Our Story Behind This Ring

At Rustic and Gold, we have spent years being very deliberate about what we make and what we do not make. We only work with premium natural diamonds. We only use recycled gold where we can. And we only put rings into the world that our craftsmen are genuinely proud of.

That last part matters more than people realise — because you can feel the difference between a ring someone rushed and a ring someone cared about. This ring is the second kind.

The grey black hexagon diamond caught our attention because of what it does that other stones simply cannot. It sits somewhere between dramatic and restrained. Dark enough to turn heads, structured enough to feel intentional.

We built our signature six-stone setting around it because a stone this serious deserved a frame that could hold its own. What came out of that process is this ring, and honestly, it is one of our favourites.

The Stone

• Centre stone is a grey-black hexagon diamond weighing 2.38 carats, measuring 10.5 x 8mm

• The color is deep grey-black — not fully black, not fully grey — it shifts depending on where you are and what light hits it

• Step cut faceting runs in clean parallel lines across the surface — structured, graphic and completely different from what a brilliant cut does

• Six flat edges and six sharp corners give the stone a geometry that feels modern without trying too hard

• The matrix inside this stone is entirely its own — no other diamond in the world carries the same pattern

Our Six Prong Setting

• Six prongs hold the hexagon at each corner — handplaced, handset, checked more than once before anything is locked in

• The prongs keep every edge and the full face of the stone open — nothing blocking it, nothing crowding it

• The setting is built in 14k yellow gold — chosen specifically because the warmth of yellow gold against a cool grey black stone creates a contrast that is genuinely hard to stop looking at

• Our craftsmen spend a significant amount of time on this setting alone because six corners means six individual points of contact, and every single one has to be right

The Band

• Smooth, polished, round yellow gold band running at 1.5mm

• Slim enough to wear every day without feeling like the ring is wearing you

• The polish holds up over time, it does not dull quickly, and it sits cleanly against the skin

• Yellow gold runs consistently from the band through to the setting — the whole ring feels like one considered piece rather than parts assembled together

What Our Craftsmen Actually Do

This is the part we feel strongly about.

Every ring at Rustic and Gold is made by hand. Not assembled, not finished by hand, made by hand, start to finish. Our craftsmen have spent years on this specific kind of work.

They know where a hexagon stone needs pressure and where it does not. They know how long a six-prong setting actually takes to do properly, and they take that time every single time.

When a ring leaves our bench, it has been held, checked and adjusted by someone who has done this long enough to know when it is not right yet. That is not something you can replicate with a machine, and it is not something we are willing to skip.

Our Sourcing

Every stone in this ring is natural and ethically sourced. The gold comes from recycled material wherever we can make that work. We have done this from the beginning because we think it is the right way to operate, not because it looks good written down.
