Our Inspiration: hexagonal diamond ring

At Rustic and Gold, we are drawn to shapes that carry geometry without feeling cold. The hexagon does that better than almost any other diamond shape — six flat sides, six sharp corners, a wide open face that lets you see straight into the stone. Pair that with triangle cut side stones, and you get a three-stone ring that feels completely its own. Not the classic round center with tapered baguettes. 

The Center Stone

The center stone is a silvery grey hexagon salt and pepper diamond weighing 1.72 carats and measuring 8.8 x 8.7 x 3mm in a hexagon salt and pepper diamond engagement ring.

• Step cut faceting runs in clean parallel lines across the full face of the hexagon. Structured, deliberate, and also completely different from a brilliant cut

• The silvery grey matrix inside the stone carries that cool metallic tone that shifts between silver and grey depending on the light

• Natural salt and pepper inclusions scattered through the interior formed entirely underground over millions of years. That pattern belongs to this stone alone

• At 8.8 x 8.7mm, the stone sits wide and symmetrical on the finger. The near-square dimensions give the hexagon a balanced presence that feels grounded rather than elongated

The Triangle Side Stones

The small salt and pepper triangle side stones weigh approximately 0.19 carats total and measure 3mm each.

• Both side stones carry their own natural salt and pepper matrix. Different from each other and different from the center stone

• Center stone sits in a handcrafted 14k rose gold prong setting — six prongs holding the hexagon at each corner, keeping the full face completely open

• The rose gold prongs are tapered and clean — nothing bulky, nothing that crowds the stone

• The triangle side stones sit in their own individual prong settings on both sides of the center stone

• The band runs in smooth, polished rose gold at 2mm — one of our wider band profiles, and it suits this ring perfectly

• At 2mm, the band has a genuine presence on the finger — substantial, solid, and finished to a standard that you feel when you hold the ring
