At Rustic and Gold, we get bored with the expected combination. One stone, one metal, done. There is nothing wrong with that — but there is also not much to discover in it. This ring came from wanting to put a salt and pepper baguette diamond next to something that had no business being next to a diamond and watching it work anyway.

The dark green gemstones were that something. Deep, moody green sitting right alongside a cool speckled grey baguette — the color contrast is the kind of thing that makes people lean in and ask questions. Nobody can immediately tell what they are looking at, and that is exactly what we were going for. A ring that earns a closer look and rewards it.

The Stones of Unique Gemstone Engagement Rings

The center stone is a baguette-cut salt-and-pepper diamond measuring 3 x 5mm.

• The baguette shape is rectangular with clean, straight edges and step-cut faceting. — Structured, clean, and also completely its own thing

• The salt and pepper matrix inside is entirely natural. — Black and white inclusions scattered through the stone over millions of years underground

• Cool silvery grey coloring that shifts depending on the light — never quite the same twice

• One-of-a-kind interior — the pattern in this stone exists nowhere else

Flanking the center stone on both sides are dark green round semiprecious gemstones in two sizes — 2mm and 1.5mm — sitting in individual prong settings.

• The dark green color sits in a deep forest tone that reads rich and considered against the grey of the baguette

• Two stones on each side in different sizes create a graduated effect. — Larger stones closer to the center, smaller ones stepping outward

• The combination of green gemstone and salt and pepper diamond is one of those pairings that feels completely natural once you see it, even though nobody saw it coming

The Band

• Available in 14k yellow gold, white gold, and also rose gold — smooth polished at approximately 1.5mm

• At 1.5mm the band is deliberately slim — everything on this ring happens above the band, and the slim profile keeps it that way

• Yellow gold is our personal favourite with this particular stone combination — the warmth of the gold picks up the green in the gemstones beautifully

• White gold keeps it cooler and lets the grey of the baguette lead

• Rose gold adds softness that works really nicely against the dark green stones
